in april,

we had to say goodbye to our horses, 
amos and sarge.

 

they had been abandoned when
we got them and they were in
rough shape. they needed more
help than we could give them,
so they went to a rescue.

jason turned 28 and jax and ali
made him cards while syd was at school.




he really loves the petite vanilla scones
at starbucks, so i found a recipe and made him 
some homemade ones. i may be biased, but
they are better than the bucks by far. ;)


we celebrated easter with family,

and i spent a little too long blogging,

only to fall off the face of the earth
in the same month. ;)

we had a tornado jump right over our house,
but not before catching the top of our tree
and uprooting others.









we survived with minor damage to our property
and livestock, but it shook them up. in fact,
the chickens laid 5 eggs during the tornado.

 
we were thankful for the lord's protection
and blessed by cake face bake shop who provided food 
while our amazing friends, family and church family came over to help in the clean up process.

i also joined the world of instagram in april and consequently, my dslr camera fell by the wayside. so the rest of april (and the rest of the year) was only captured by phone...
