so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody."

random friday

outtake collage

happy friday!
my girl is going to be home for the weekend!
i can't wait, and neither can she!
she's been so exhausted...
i'm really thankful for a 2 day week next week.

we're supposed to host a bonfire
for our church fam tomorrow.
it got cancelled last week because
it was too windy...
and the forecast is almost identical this week.
i really hope it will happen.

we're celebrating thanksgiving
with my mom's fam on sunday.
i still don't know what to bring.
baking is my thang,
and i still don't have a working oven.
i need ideas.
pinterest, here i come!

i tried to explain consumerism to my kids.
i know.
it came up because christmas stuff is
already out...
(like, since august at hobby lobby!)
i just said that stores focus on
what they can make money on,
and they don't make much money
from thanksgiving, so they kind of
forget about it...
now, ali hollers about anyone she sees
in the stores who have christmas items in their cart.
she says they're forgetting about thanksgiving.
i guess i shouldn't tell her i bought an
advent calendar and stable for the nativity set
at target's one spot?

i was up til 10:45 last night.
i have not been up past 9:30 since the time change.
i have been loving it...
but i broke my "no caffeine after 7" rule
and had coffee with jason
while we watched the office last night.
as luck would have it, i was up for
2 hours in the night, too.
1 because of max,
1 because i was wide awake
after dealing with him for an hour...
aaand, most of my kids have been up since 6.
that's when i get up.
syd gets on the bus at 7:05,
and i let her sleep til 6:30.
that means i usually have 30 minutes
of coffee and solitude first thing,
which is vital for my sanity.
needless to say, it's been a long morning.
i am thankful for some stout coffee.
yes and amen.

ok. i'm done.
have a great weekend!
thanks for reading!
